ALICIA'S JOURNEY WITH FA

Welcome to our blog where we try to keep family & friends updated on our daughter/granddaughter, Alicia, who is one of the most adorable five year olds ever! She was born with a very rare & aggressive disease, called Fanconi anemia, which causes bone marrow failure, as well as different cancers . She is currently undergoing a bone marrow transplant to try to cure her bone marrow issues. If you'd like to gain a little more background, please visit our first entry HERE.

Day +261

Alicia seems to be doing well. She is still being closely Monitored. In rounds this morning the Doc told me the lab had told her this morning that it will not be til tomorrow until they can let her know what Bacterias are growing because there is a multiple of them. GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!! They are still not ruling us going home. In a way I think they want to make sure we get home as soon as possible because they know how mad I am and this could be a BIG issue for this dept and Hospital. Little do they know that this is not going to be forgotten and swept under the rug. The neglect of care that day could of taken my baby's life. She was just doing what is done to her many times during the day. Alicia and I have had many talks about what happened and we will have many more until I believe she truly understands that is not OK to play with her own line.

As soon as I know the outcome of the organisms growing I will update everyone. Please pray we get home soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
