ALICIA'S JOURNEY WITH FA

Welcome to our blog where we try to keep family & friends updated on our daughter/granddaughter, Alicia, who is one of the most adorable five year olds ever! She was born with a very rare & aggressive disease, called Fanconi anemia, which causes bone marrow failure, as well as different cancers . She is currently undergoing a bone marrow transplant to try to cure her bone marrow issues. If you'd like to gain a little more background, please visit our first entry HERE.

Hello to everyone,

Sorry its been so long since I updated everyone on Alicia. Everything is going well with us. Alicia counts are staying the same, we got her CBC counts back last week, her platelets are at 71,000. She's just getting over a cold but besides that she's doing really well.

We are trying to make arrangements to move to Cinncinnatti, Ohio. I want her to be able to get the best medical treatment possible. The Doctors here are wonderful, Dr Reddy, her Pediatrician is a Awesome Doctor, but The team of specialist in Cinncinnatti know so much more about FA. So right now I am trying to figure out a way to afford to make such a big move, I'm a single mother like my daughter Erika and our finances are kinda tight, but my goal right now is to have Alicia close to the Doctors in Cinncinnatti. I know the lord is on our side and everything will work out.

I am sorry again for such the long period between updates, and I will try harder to make them more frequent.

Your friend
Michelle
