ALICIA'S JOURNEY WITH FA

Welcome to our blog where we try to keep family & friends updated on our daughter/granddaughter, Alicia, who is one of the most adorable five year olds ever! She was born with a very rare & aggressive disease, called Fanconi anemia, which causes bone marrow failure, as well as different cancers . She is currently undergoing a bone marrow transplant to try to cure her bone marrow issues. If you'd like to gain a little more background, please visit our first entry HERE.

Hi Michelle and Alicia....Johanna had her BMT in Cincinnati and just yesterday, at her doctor's appointment here in Fl, she said she missed Cincinnati. The nurses and doctors were very supportive and always indulging her. We were very pleased. I spent 3-1/2 months there and might have some insight into the area...if you need it.

I just wanted to post a note to your website. My daughter, Erin, is an FA patient that is recovering from a bone marrow transplant she had this past May in Minneapolis, MN. She is 8 years old, and was diagnosed with Fanconi Anemia in September of 2003. We live in the Greater Cincinnati area, and if we can help your family as you navigate the BMT "waters" here -- we would be happy to do so (oh/erinmckee). Best of luck to you, and we will be praying for your family, and your upcoming move to Cincinnati.
