ALICIA'S JOURNEY WITH FA

Welcome to our blog where we try to keep family & friends updated on our daughter/granddaughter, Alicia, who is one of the most adorable five year olds ever! She was born with a very rare & aggressive disease, called Fanconi anemia, which causes bone marrow failure, as well as different cancers . She is currently undergoing a bone marrow transplant to try to cure her bone marrow issues. If you'd like to gain a little more background, please visit our first entry HERE.

DAY +10

ALICIA HAD A BETTER DAY TODAY. SHE STILL IS PRETTY WEAK, BUT SHE WAS ABLE TO STAY AWAKE A LITTLE WHILE TODAY. SHE DIDN'T EAT MUCH STILL BUT HE FEEDING TUBE IS STILL IN (THANK GOODNESS!!!)
I LEFT THE ROOM FOR A FEW MINUTES TO RUN AND GET HER CLOTHES FRO THE RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE AND THIS IS WHAT I WALKED IN TO. SHE MESSED WITH HE RBANDANNA BUT NOT THE MASHED POTATOE'S. I COULD DO NOTHING BUT LAUGH WHEN I SEEN HER. WE DID GET SOME GOOD NEWS TODAY, ALICIA HAS AN ANC!!!!!!!!! YESTERDAY IT WAS .05 SO I DID NOT GET MY HOPES UP BUT TODAY IT WAS AT .32!!!!! PLEASE KEEP UP THE PRAYERS, THEY ARE BEING ANSWERED. HER WBC ALSO SHOWED TODAY. YESTERDAY IT WAS AT .2 AND TODAY IT WAS AT .4!!!!! HER PLATELETS WENT UP TO 212,000 FROM 13,000 WITH THE HELP OF THE TRANSFUSION YESTERDAY. HER HBG WAS DOWN TO 7.8 SO I ASSUME SHE WILL BE GETTING RED BLOOD TOMORROW.

I HOPE THE NEW SITE DID NOT THROW ANYONE OFF. I LIKE BEING ABLE TO POST PICTURES AND STILL LOVE THE COMMENTS EVERYONE LEAVES FOR ALICIA AND I AND ERIKA.

I WILL UPDATE AGAIN IN THE MORINING.

Found you!
Praying right now!
Psalms 32:6-7 For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him. Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.
