ALICIA'S JOURNEY WITH FA

Welcome to our blog where we try to keep family & friends updated on our daughter/granddaughter, Alicia, who is one of the most adorable five year olds ever! She was born with a very rare & aggressive disease, called Fanconi anemia, which causes bone marrow failure, as well as different cancers . She is currently undergoing a bone marrow transplant to try to cure her bone marrow issues. If you'd like to gain a little more background, please visit our first entry HERE.

Day -3

Last night was a hard one for Alicia. Everything did a big Turn around about 5pm last night. Alicia started complaining that her tummy was hurting and then she started with diareha. She filled 6 diapers within 30 minutes. She slept very restless and had diareha all night long, then aroun six this morning the vomitting came, and of course the fever and chills followed. She is asleep right now but I believe it is from all the medicine she is getting, they did more cultures on her but we have no results yet. I am glad after today that she will only have one more day of Chemo, but I heard the Radiation she will be getting on Wednesday is awful also.

Denise is on her way here now. I talked to her earlier when she was in Atlanta so she should be here within the next couple of hours. I am sooooooo glad I have help on the way.

I found out earlier that we will be moving rooms to 519. There is something wrong with the sink in the room we were in. Alicia does not even feel like moving so I hope we can get her moved without upsetting her stomach.

Thanks again for all the support.
