ALICIA'S JOURNEY WITH FA

Welcome to our blog where we try to keep family & friends updated on our daughter/granddaughter, Alicia, who is one of the most adorable five year olds ever! She was born with a very rare & aggressive disease, called Fanconi anemia, which causes bone marrow failure, as well as different cancers . She is currently undergoing a bone marrow transplant to try to cure her bone marrow issues. If you'd like to gain a little more background, please visit our first entry HERE.

Michelle Update

Michelle is not going home today, maybe tomorrow. She was still sounding very out of it today. She is still not feeling up to par.
After surgery yesterday they had said she lost a lot of blood buut it was not anything to worry about. I guess last night after we left and into this afternoon, she received 3 tranfusions. All is fairly well now. She even tried to eat. She sat up a long time both last noght and today.

Please pray for her, you all know how she gets when she is not near Alicia.

Thanks for checking in.

She needed THREE transfusions and they said it was nothing to be concerned about?!
Praying hard for a quick recovery, Michelle!!!!!!!!!!

Psalms 57:1-2 Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast. I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth all things for me.

Hi Michelle,

It was so good to read that your Mom and Denise are there with you. What a great surprise and comfort for you.

Am also glad that the doctor could do your surgery laporoscopically. It still sounds like it was quite an ordeal with the transfusions, the open wound, etc. But I know that you're in good hands and have so many loving people with you now.

Tina is wonderful to be updating for you and "there" for you in all ways...what a great friend.

Will pray and pray that the news from the labs is good and that you will be well on your way to healing and good health. Am praying also for Alicia.

Please be good to yourself and take the time you need to heal.
Love, Mary Ann

Hi Michelle,
I am so glad things are going ok. You take it easy, you hear? Hehe...staying in hospital is not a bad thing at all. It will force you to rest than if you were out. Although, I know how anxious you get about Alicia when you are in there. We are praying that you will recover quickly and that Alicia will be fine while waiting for you to recover.
Lots of love,
Charisse
